Information On Accident, Sickness and Unemployment (ASU) Insurance
Accident, sickness and unemployment (ASU) insurance is designed to help you meet your financial obligations if you lose your income should you fall ill, have a serious accident or suffer unemployment. First Call Payment Protection Ltd offer six different types of ASU protection (Mortgage, Income, Bill, Car, Loan and Rent) so you can protect the payments that matter to you most. For example, if you feel your mortgage payments are important to you and would be most affected should you suffer accident, sickness or unemployment, then perhaps you should consider taking out a mortgage payment protection insurance policy. If you are currently renting a property, you may wish to consider taking out a rent payment protection insurance policy, and so on.
The advantages of taking out accident, sickness and unemployment insurance are as follows:
If you have taken out a mortgage or re-mortgage after October 1995 the state may not help you meet your mortgage payments if you suffer from an accident, sickness or unemployment.
If you are made redundant and do not receive a good redundancy package an ASU policy may help you meet your financial obligations.
If you're current place of work does not have a sickness pay scheme in place, an ASU policy may help you if you become sick.
Did you know you are still entitled to accident and sickness monthly benefits even if you still receive you salary?
If you do decide that taking out ASU insurance is for you, then we would recommend you visit our Important Documents page to download PDFs that tell you more about our cover, so you can make an informed decision on the type of Payment Protection Insurance that is right for you as there are certain circumstances that will mean you are not protected; for example - deliberate self injury, previous medical conditions etc.
